Hayden Headed off to War

Dirk has been watching 'Lord of the Rings' on blu-ray the past few days while he builds furniture and other things. Hayden has not surprisingly been interested in the show and watched quite a bit of it here and there and has been asking all sorts of questions. He last asked about a scene where the men and boys were preparing to go to war. Hayden decided he needed to be brave and go to war also, so he loaded up his Nerf gun and headed to the backyard. A few minutes later he came inside excited because he was brave and killed a bad guy and needed to reload his gun. I went outside to see what he was up to and he showed me his freshly killed caterpillar. Yes, he killed a caterpillar with his Nerf gun. I asked him how exactly he did it and he showed me how he shot the little bug with his high-speed bullets from about 4 inches away! The poor fuzzy little guy didn't stand a chance and was half squished. Hayden was very proud of his kill, as he told me the caterpillar was a really REALLY bad guy!
