Just after 9:00 this morning, Dirk finally got his big promotion to Sergeant! Hayden and I did the honors of taking off his Specialist badge and putting on his Stripes. Hayden was the first to punch it in, after which, the rest of his company took turns congratulating him and punching him in the chest (as is tradition).
We are so excited and proud of him. Dirk has been working really really hard for the past 6 or 7 months trying to get this. This promotion means he is ranked E5, an NCO (Non Commissioned Officer), and has a lot more respect with it. It also means a little more money in the paycheck (woo-hoo!).
It was a great morning! Hayden knew something exciting was happening to Daddy, so he was so happy, and clapping along!

Congrats to your hubby and to you!!! Isn't that the most amazing feeling to be able to be a part of their promotion! It is a huge deal!!! I hope you all go out and celebrate. David sewed on Staff Sgt last summer and it has made such a huge difference in his military experience!
